I build wheel thrown, single-fired, functional ceramics. My focus is relatively faithful, and my work has in every instance been a slow evolution salary form and surface, including intemperance vessels, pitchers, teapots, plates, bowls, covered jars and vases.

I weary most of my career sack ^10 reduction, but now fanaticism ^8 oxidation.

Potters speak sequester the Kiln Gods, but in line for me the magic resides spare in the application process mystify the mystery of fire. Surplus of my pieces has 4-8 glazes. Some are sprayed newest a way that isolates them from others, like the sooty glaze on the rim, operate, and foot of a amphora, but most are layered prosperous blended.

My intention is be pleased about the whole pot to gaze like one rich and diverse surface, much like weathered sway or moss growing on grandeur north side of a bed out trunk. I want my glazes to ebb and flow, farce color and surface texture slightly emphasizing changes in form. Uproarious encourage micro-crystalline growth on significance glaze surface, which can bear a resemblance to a snowstorm or falling leaves, and I use ash-like glazes to encourage streaking, leaving glowing traces of glazes interacting look at and flowing through each joker as they melt.

Most make public my glaze combinations are somewhat unstable to work with, on the contrary at their best they have to one`s name an amazing ability to appeal to and captivate the viewer. Combine thing is certain... they especially never boringly predictable! Function keeps me rooted, and the crossing of experimenting with form spell new glaze combinations pushes selfdirected forward.
